Otter Falls 7.27.2014

Great hike. Moderate climb. Be sure to hike off trail to the top of the waterfall at the first bridge. There is a nice swimming hole at it's base. Otter falls trail head is actually marked by a bunch of rocks forming an arrow diverting from the Snoqualmie Lake Trail about 3 miles in. Bring an extra pair of pants if you plan to slide down the rocks. I tore mine a bit.

Lena Lake 7.20.2014

Our first hike in the Olympic Peninsula! We had a great time with this one. It is listed as a difficult hike, but everyone agreed that it was fairly easy. Perhaps, they were talking about the 14 mile trek to the upper Lena Lake or the caves, The Brothers. We had the opportunity to run into 3 people who worked for the Washington Trails Association. They informed us that the river that is fed by Lena Lake was obstructed by an avalanche and now runs underground. So, we followed our ears to the place it came out. Super cool spot. Little chilly for a swim this time, but overall an amazing day.
